Which brings up the next point: you could mill the 049s for what ever you need. Honestly, the small drop in compression will be more than made up for with the much better flow.

The late John L. large oval'd the intake port mouths and then did bowl work on them so that he got them from 201 up to 224 cc's, then added 2.25"/1.88" valves.
