WebJun 4, 2015 · If you do the replacement yourself, cut the hoses off the heater core with a really sharp knife and the slice the hose length wise so you can peel it off the heater core. You don't want to damage the heater core pipes by stressing them. I think someone used a dremel tool to cut the clamps instead.
